Pips & Lies

This policy describes what the Pips & Lies app and its game server collect, why, and how to have it removed. It is written to match what the software actually does.
The short version. You can play as a 30-day guest or create an account with an email address and password. No real name, location, contacts or advertising identifier is collected. There are no analytics or advertising SDKs. The game stores your safe display name and how you played.

Guest names use an automatically generated guest-and-number format, such as guest1382834. Account usernames are unique without regard to capitalisation and are limited to letters, numbers and underscores. A permanent account's username, ranked rating and number of rated matches may appear on the public leaderboard after at least five ranked matches in the selected ladder. Anonymous guest profiles never appear there.
Jonas Ørbakk Fjæraa, the developer and operator of Pips & Lies, is the data controller. The developer and authorised administrators can access account information and gameplay data through protected administration tools only when needed to operate the game, provide account support, investigate faults or abuse, fulfil a data request, or delete an account. Email addresses are not visible to other players. Contact details for the data controller are provided below.
The following services process data to provide the app:
Guest profiles and all associated progress are automatically deleted 30 days after the guest profile was created. Creating an account during that period keeps the same profile, rating, trophies and statistics. Account data is kept until the account is deleted. Server logs are short-lived. A block is kept until an account is deleted. Safety reports are kept as long as reasonably needed to investigate abuse, enforce the rules and document actions taken.
Open Privacy & Account on the game's home screen and choose Delete Account and Data. After confirmation, the account and its associated profile, statistics, rating, trophies and match-player records are permanently deleted. You may also use the contact address below to request deletion or a copy of what is stored.
Pips & Lies is not directed at children under 13, and no account is knowingly created for one. There is no chat, no photo sharing and no way to send free text to other players beyond the account username.
Features that change what is collected — such as advertising or leaderboards — will be reflected here before they ship, and the date at the top will be updated.
